Week5 moving to the Action Plan steps, Timeline, and Budget for the plan
- If
internet access is included in your plan, how might Broadband internet
access for all Americans impact your community? Is this an issue for
your community? How does your school or district currently address
this need if it is not an equity issue?
My plan does not include internet
access. It is assumed that the patient will have access to have a telehealth visit
with the provider. Per previous semester research the rural areas of Oklahoma
have internet access, and most households have a device. The problem is that
the patients may not know how to use the app. Regarding education implementation
needs we found that this provider is new to using the outpatient MEDITECH Electronic
Health Record (EHR). The provider has received weekly training by the IT
department. The goal is to have the first patients on May 1st, 2026.
- Consider
the discussions in the ISTE (2018) guidance document and Crossland et al
(2018) of accessibility, UDL, and/or personalized learning outcomes for
students. How might either or both of these documents support your
proposed technology integration plan? (Note: Only 15% of funds
provided may be used to purchase devices/software; the bulk of the funds
must be used for professional learning.)
The
Crossland et al. (2018)
document addresses the ten most frequently asked questions from the education key
stakeholders. Q1 How is technology transforming education? Q2What does the law
say about digital accessibility? Q3How should accessibility fit into my ESSA
plan? Q4 How can universal design principles help me plan? Q5How do
accessibility, technology, and personalized learning intersect? Q6 What are the
benefits of accessibility? Q7 How can I get started? Q8 What is important to consider
during the technology procurement process? Q9 What is the relationship between
accessibility and usability? Q10 What are characteristics of schools, districts,
and states that have successfully addressed technology and accessibility?
The ISTE (2020) guide encourages the
integration of technology to support Title IV-A funds. The guide calls to expand
professional learning opportunities. The guide provides the following steps for
directors or coordinators: Identify your state’s Title IV-A coordinator(s), Identify
your state’s current Titte IV-A priorities, Conduct additional landscape
research as necessary.
The recommendations of ITE (2020)
guide and the Crossland et al. (2018) document support my project in relationship
of finding the stake holders and providing telehealth services to those that
are in disadvantage in obtaining psychiatric mental health services due to
their rural locations.
- What
funding option(s) might be a good match for the vision and goals of your
technology integration plan? Provide support for your answer. What
are your next steps to pursue this option(s)?
It would be great if this provider
had a new computer to provide the services of telehealth, however when asked for
borrowing equipment, there was a negative response due to this provider not
being an employee of the company. There are limitations in what tit can be
offered due to the provider owning a slow and old laptop. There is no paid
training for this provider, The hope is that as the first of May comes, there
are patients that provide and income to update the equipment and make up for
the unpaid training hours. The next steps are just getting started and evaluate
in a monthly basis how effective this project becomes in helping people with
the mental conditions at the same time of providing an income for the provider
and the AVEM health partners.
- Examine
funding practices for technology within your school/district/organization.
What is the technology budget? Consulting current and past school budgets
may be helpful. For Public/Independent school districts you may
find information under your district website under Administration
->School Board or Committee documents. April is typically the
time of year that new budgets are reviewed.
There is no budget. The AVEM health
group had provider salaried IT employees that are collaborating with this
provider as part of their salary. The provider is voluntarily spending time on
training. The compensation will be according to the number of patients seen in
the Monday to Thursday work week. Hopefully it is a successful program.
